The Abnormal Behaviour Detection Course was organized, targeting security personnel, military, law enforcement officers performing duties at any exclusive venues and existing personnel employed by the authority or organization primarily responsible for the application of behaviour detection techniques.
Specially designed to teach participants the fundamentals of profiling, recognition of suspicious indicators while facilitating the participants to practice new skills, the course was held from Monday to Thursday (Dec 9-12).
Course instructor William Yeung said that acquiring the skill would enhance the level of normal surveillance, especially in terms of detection skills instead of just relying on technology.
“The application of skill learnt through the course is also wide; not only does it apply to exclusive venues, but also to shopping malls, schools and home, as it is specifically designed to enhance security,” he added.
The course was a joint effort between the Civil Aviation Department and Worksafe Management Services.
