Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra met with Christian Klingler, CEO of German carmaker Volkswagen, at Thailand Government House and discussed problems and obstacles associated with manufacturing eco-cars in Thailand. Yingluck would like to see Volkswagen invest in the country which now has attractive policies
Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra met with Christian Klingler, CEO of German carmaker Volkswagen, at Thailand Government House and discussed problems and obstacles associated with manufacturing eco-cars in Thailand.

Yingluck would like to see Volkswagen invest in the country which now has attractive policies and a strong automobile industry. She invited the company to explore eco-car opportunities and assigned the Board of Investment and the Ministry of Industry to provide assistance for investment facilitation.

Klingler expressed that Vokswagen was interested in expanding in Southeast Asia, and the group is confident in the investment climate and the rapidly growing automotive industry in the region. He was assured of the Thai government's resolve to promote regional trade via investment in the transportation infrastructure.
