Founded in 1991, Etron Technology is a Taiwan-based fabless IC design and product company, specializing in buffer memory and system-on-chips (SoC). Etron offers Buffer DRAM chips from 8Mb to 1Gb for Consumer, Communication, Computer, and Car (4C) applications. Its system-on-chip (SOC) IC products includes USB 3.0 host controller ICs, USB3.0 flash drive controller ICs, and 3D imaging and gesture-sensing integrated webcam controller ICs.

For smart homes, Etron offers Buffer DRAM, LED driver, and 3D image sensor ICs. Its Buffer DRAM chips are designed to address the needs of high-bandwidth, low-power consumption for smart home systems, including xDSL, xPON, cable modem, set top box, WiFi AP/Router, power line communication, femto cell, IP-Camera, TV, tablets. 

Etron's eSP870 chipset is a USB3.0 3D Depth-map Controller which enables gesture/skeleton control by stereoscopic camera, and 3 dimension sense ability. eSP870, equipped with sophisticated computational algorithms, delivers high performance depth-map, 3D video and 2D video for various applications. In addition, eSP870 can transfer depth-map images as well as high quality 3D or 2D instant video in the meantime via the USB3.0 high speed interface. Etron indicated that 3D video technology features better recognition than 2D video processing for lower false alarms. 

Besides, Etron provides 3D scanning and 3D body motion game consoles platforms that features embedded graphics algorithms to bring human-machine interfaces for smart homes. The 3D Scanning Platform adds lasers light for precise object positioning, featuring 3D image capture and real time depth map output. 

Etron's 3D body motion game console platform, powered by Etron 3D Depth-Map Stereo Camera Controller IC, helps system developers design custom 3D motion-controlled games. Etron integrates game console and camera controller into its 3D body motion game console platform to make it more affordable for the mass market.
