At the International CES 2015, home automation provider Legrand is showcasing a cloud-based home automation system that permits remote operation from an iOS or Android device via ZigBee and Wi-Fi connectivity. With use of a mobile app, a home owner is able to manage household lighting, window shutters, the home climate control system, scenarios, and other features of the smart home. Secure cloud infrastructure permits worry-free operation, and supports the registration of multiple user accounts. The battery-less light switch supports ZigBee 3.0 Green Power Technology.
Any remote switch within the household integrated with the system is rendered capable of controlling multiple devices, home appliances, and installations. Control is centralized via the Legrand gateway device, but multiple control points are supported by default. The management app is capable of customizing remote switch functionality by pairing multiple actions to a single button. Furthermore, scenarios may be initiated on user-defined conditions. The DIY home kit is available in France in April 2015.
