Dahua, a video surveillance solutions provider, partners with OmniVision, a developer of imaging solutions, to produce a cloud-based camera for its home automation brand “LeChange” that ushers in the next-generation of smart home capabilities. Utilizing OmniVision's OV9712 image sensor, LeChange home camera is capable of recording and streaming 720p video at 30 frames per second to a number of devices, including notebooks, smartphones and tablets, simplifying home monitoring and video conferencing.

“Over the last 15 years, we have built a rich portfolio of hardware and software products, including security devices, mobile Internet solutions and cloud storage options,” said Fu Liquan, President of Dahua. “With the Internet-of-Things concept becoming more and more prominent in influencing product designs and consumer expectations, we have decided to raise the standards of the smart home market by partnering with OmniVision and creating a superior product, the cloud-based HD LeChange home camera.”

“We view Dahua's LeChange home camera as a great stride forward in video-based capabilities for video conferencing and home monitoring, with the potential to easily and affordably turn an ordinary house into a smart home,” said Dr. Henry Yang, COO at OmniVision. “Through close collaboration, we have taken the next step in bringing smart home security and video-based communications into the mainstream. We look forward to further growing our partnership with Dahua, and are excited about the prospects for development of ever more innovative products to further improve the way we live.”

The OV9712 Camera Chip sensor leverages OmniVision's proven 3-micron OmniPixel3-HS pixel architecture to achieve exceptional scene reproduction in extreme lighting conditions. This feature allows users to capture high-quality, reliable video even under low-light conditions.
