iSmart Alarm announces integration with Amazon Alexa
DIY smart home security firm iSmart Alarm has announced product integration with Amazon Alexa, allowing users to voice-control their home security system.
DIY smart home security firm iSmart Alarm has announced product integration with Amazon Alexa, allowing users to voice-control their home security system.

Users can enable the iSmartAlarm skill in the Alexa app, and give commands like “Alexa, tell iSmartAlarm to arm my system,” “Alexa, tell iSmartAlarm to disarm my system,” and “Alexa, tell iSmartAlarm to set mode to home.”

According to the company, the setup process is easy and home security is protected with custom PIN numbers.

All iSmartAlarm products, including security cameras, sensors and other smart home gadgets, will be updated with this Alexa support.

“iSmartAlarm is constantly pursuing opportunities within the connected home to improve our customers’ experience and security,” says Raymond Meng, CEO and co-founder of iSmartAlarm, in a statement. “The latest updates for the iSmartAlarm system and apps make controlling smart home security and security cameras even more user friendly with voice-activated commands.”

The company has released the Spot Smart Camera, iCamera KEEP and iCamera KEEP Pro which offer HD video. Just like other security cameras in the market, they can help users identify intruders and assist law enforcement by providing recorded videos. The cameras can also check on pets and kids, identify the sound of emergencies and get real-time notifications when house break-in occurs.

The company also has door and window sensors. When movements are detected, users will get immediate notifications via smartphone app, text or email. They can also customize the system with 110 dB satellite sirens with battery backup.

In addition to Alexa, iSmart Alarm supports other platforms including IFTTT and Google Assistant, and connect to Nest, August Lock, Philips Hue, Ring and more.

Founded in 2012, iSmart Alarm has made its DIY smart home products available in U.S. and Canada. The Alexa integration update, as the company claims, is immediately available in the Alexa app.
