Light + Building 2018: Human-centric lights for smart living
At the globally largest lighting fair Light + Building 2018 Frankfurt, smart lighting has already shed spotlight to the fair ground. Shining in great variety of colors, lightings are controlled wirelessly via smart system domains with dimmable colors, brightness, and temperature.
At the globally largest lighting fair Light + Building 2018 Frankfurt, smart lighting has already shed spotlight to the fair ground. Shining in great variety of colors, lightings are controlled wirelessly via smart system domains with dimmable colors, brightness, and temperature. What really catches visitors’ hearts, is how the light can really reflect people’s behavior. At the following collection of SMAhome, you will find lighting systems that learn or know where you are and how much light you need indoors, as well as humanistic lighting controls that create a smart living style in not only home, but office or staircases.

Helvar iDim room solutions Active+

Active+ is the smart lighting solution designed for self-learning energy saving luminaires. Helvar Active+ consists of an LED driver, a small sensor built into the luminaire, and an optional app. Lighting projects with Active+ solution can fit in refurbishment projects, as well as new offices, corridors, open plan areas and storage areas. Active+ solution is also possible to create a Stairway Function mode, where the space is lit prior to the user entering with minimal waste of energy.
Active+ solution uses existing wire and switches. Without complicated programming of the system, the Active+ driver collects data recorded via the sensor from the environment, and learns the pattern of movement as well as human behaviors in the space to adjust ambient lighting. Sunlight, other luminaires, and human presence are all the reference for dimming the smart lighting indoors. Energy efficiency is also achieved in this way.

DARA Lighting

DARA is a unique software and hardware platform that uses intelligent lighting infrastructure to build up smart control and energy efficiency with illumination. DARA Lighting embeds mesh technology and uses cloud services to configure intelligent control and to easily add or remove new devices or luminaires from the network. Luminaires can be controlled individually or grouped for customizable scene settings via the Dara mobile app based on users’ demand.

DARA Watt, a component of DARA Lighting, automatically measures actual energy consumption of the lighting system in real time, assisting optimized energy decisions. The wireless control of light is either locally based on Bluetooth connection or remotely via Wi-Fi network. Users can experience a wide variety of personalization by setting light dimming level, changing the color temperature, setting color in RGB spectrum, switching it on and off, setting automated scenarios for light based on time schedule, plus a lot more functionalities.

Nimbus wireless lighting management & lighting pad

The Nimbus LED lights can be easily and flexibly controlled and dimmed remotely via smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth 4.0 connection with Casambi app, or manually via wall dimmer switch. Time schedules, scenes, and active/standby mode allows users to create lighting completely matching their own mood.

Also showing at Light + Building 2018, Lighting Pad of Nimbus combines LED illumination with sound-absorbing acoustic element. With highest absorption classes A and B, Lighting Pad can be hanged in workplaces, meeting points, foyers, hotels, galleries, and more spaces. It is available in various shapes, colors and sizes and allows users to develop tailor-made solutions.

Dresden Elektronik Phoscon wireless light control Gateway

Phoscon Gateway by Dresden Elektronik Ingenieurtechnik is a connected solution for an intelligent wireless lighting control based on ZigBee Light Link. Phoscon Gateway solution is the official integration of switches, sensors and illuminants from established manufacturers on the market, including well-known companies such as IKEA and Philips. Phoscon Gateway also protects privacy with no Internet connection needed for the operation except for software updates.

With the Phoscon App, the Phoscon Gateway can control up to 200 devices. The commissioning of switches such as the manufacturer Dresden Elektronik, Busch-Jaeger, GIRA, JUNG, and Osram Lightify can contrived in the app in the shortest possible time.

Houm wireless lighting control system

Houm is a DALI/EnOcean/Modbus lighting automation system supporting a variety of existing DALI and EnOcean devices. Houm central unit in the system connects to cloud service, linking users with wireless and battery-free EnOcean switches, DALI connected motion and light intensity sensors, DALI drivers for luminaires, and Houm app. For intuitive voice control, Amazon Echo Dot is also integrated to automate home.

Houm can be applied in homes, apartments, offices, restaurants, and hotels, available for as much automation scenarios as needed. The wireless and battery-free control is in 868 MHz EnOcean switching frequency.

Intelligent Lumen wireless lighting control

The sensor from Intelligent Lumen controls the luminary and storage program send by gateway. It also collects and monitors real time occupancy, light levels, temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide, energy use indoors, and incorporates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons. Gateway is the bride between the Control Lighting Management and the Intelligent Sensor. Each gateway can control up to 50 fixtures.

Apart from lighting control, the IoT system of Intelligent Lumen can also be applied in indoor positioning, asset and environmental monitoring, and energy analytics.
