10 Google Home compatible products

10 Google Home compatible products
Users can switch on, dim, brighten and change color all through Google Home.

Here are a collection of Google Home-compatible products that are popular in the smart home market.

Philips Hue

Users can switch on, dim, brighten and change color all through Google Home. There are a number of Philips Hue products. The starter set that includes a hub and three White and Color Ambiance lights is more versatile, because it supports different colors and temperatures. The Hue White Starter Kit doesn’t have all the different colors, but still lets users set dimming levels.

Expand the lighting system with up to 12 Hue accessories, such as a Hue Dimmer Switch, Hue Tap, or Hue Motion Sensor. Install the LED lights as you would install ordinary bulbs and pair them with the Hue Bridge, which allows you to control smart-bulb-equipped lamps and overhead lights via the Philips Hue App.

Users can control the lights with voice using Alexa and Apple HomeKit as well. Pair it for home automation with existing Nest or Samsung SmartThings system.

The Nest Learning thermostat

Feeling too hot or too cold? Instead of getting up to make the adjustment on your thermostat, you may now do it via Google Home. Users may ask Google Home what the current temperature is or what the thermostat is set to. Users can make temperature adjustment by specifying a set degree, or just say “Make it cooler.” If there are multiple thermostats in the house, users can assign a name to each of them and then address them individually.

The 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat is thinner and has a bigger and sharper display. With Farsight, it lights up when it sees a user coming and shows the time or temperature from across the room. The Nest Thermostat, which is the first thermostat to get ENERGY STAR certified, can also save energy.

The best part about the Nest Learning Thermostat is that it can learn user habits after a week of training it.

Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat

Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat allows users to control from anywhere, via iPhone, iPad, Android or computer. The flexibility of the thermostat allows users to uniquely program their device as either a home or business thermostat and then offers scheduling features specific to their needs.

Once set up with Google Home, a user can use voice command to adjust the temperature and get the current temperature or thermostat setting.

Tell your Wi-Fi smart thermostat what temperature you prefer when you wake up, and you’ll never have to endure another cold morning. This smart thermostat learns your heating and cooling cycle times to deliver just the right temperature.

Users can remotely monitor and manage home’s comfort and energy usage anytime, from anywhere. The function is available for iOS and Android devices. Temperature alerts and filter change reminders can be sent to connected network devices and displayed on Honeywell Wi-Fi smart thermostat.

Automate your home with this Insignia Wi-Fi smart plug. It controls most electrical devices, including lights, air conditioners and kitchen appliances, and its Insignia Connect app sets up to 10 timers, including daily and weekly schedules. This Insignia Wi-Fi smart plug links to your home’s Wi-Fi network and is accessible from any location through an iOS or Android device.

With Insignia Connect app, users can control, monitor and schedule indoor electronics using a smartphone. It works with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so that users may turn on lights, coffeemakers, fans or a whole room on or off with the power of their voice.

It is easy to use and install. Connect the mobile device to a Wi-Fi network, download and open the free Insignia Connect app, and plug the Smart Plug into an outlet. Can be used in a 2-prong outlet, by using a 3-prong to 2-prong grounding adapter.

Google Chromecast

Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use your mobile device and the TV you already own to cast your favorite TV shows, movies, music, sports, games, and more. Chromecast works with iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, Mac, Windows laptop or Chromebook.

With the help of Google Home, users can fire up video using just the power of their voice. With YouTube and Netflix both supported, unwinding in front of the TV is not easier.

The little puck-size device connects to your home network via Wi-Fi. Once you’ve hooked it up, you can tell Google Home to play “Travelers” via Netflix on your Chromecast, and it’ll start it right up for you. There are also audio-only and 4K versions of the Chromecast, depending on your needs.

The new Chromecast has higher video resolution and lower buffering, thanks to the enhanced WiFi architecture.

Samsung SmartThings

The Samsung SmartThings home monitoring kit lets users control and monitor their home from anywhere in the world. The kit includes a Samsung SmartThings hub, two Samsung SmartThings multipurpose sensors, one Samsung SmartThings motion sensor and one Samsung SmartThings outlet.

Users can monitor their home to protect their families and properties; automate lights and electronics; and create a safer, more efficient home that is set to their unique preferences. You can even keep an eye on things when you pair a compatible camera with your video-ready Samsung SmartThings hub.

Google Home integration allow users to control connected lights, outlets and thermostats with the power of voice. They can voice commands as simple as “Ok Google, turn on the bedroom fan.” The system may be set up to trigger lights to automatically turn on when there’s motion and turn off when people leave.

Logitech Harmony Elite

Harmony Elite is a remote that offers powerful, intuitive way to control home entertainment. Harmony Elite goes beyond TV and movies. Use it to control the music from the kitchen, adjust the lights or the blinds from across town, based on the time of day. Compatible with Google Assistant for easy voice integration and activation.

Get lighting, locks, thermostat and more to work together for one-touch experiences like ‘welcome home’ or ‘good night’. Set room lighting to automatically dim when you start a movie. Turn on multiple devices at a touch, create custom schedules or trigger them with sensors.

The Harmony app turns iOS or Android smartphones or tablets into personal universal remote controls for the whole house.

The full-color touchscreen allows users to simply swipe and tap to control channels, movies, volume, 50 favorite channels and smart home devices like Philips Hue lights.

Wink Connected Hub

The Wink Hub allows diverse collection of smart home products to speak the same wireless language, so that users can easily control them and customize their interactions, from the Wink app.

Once everything is set up, users can ask Google Home to turn the lights off or on as well as turn the heat up or down. Among the Wink-compatible products are lighting offerings like the GE Link Starter Kit, and options from Philips and Sylvania; Lutron and Leviton switches and outlets; and Nest and Honeywell thermostats.

The Wink app keeps users connected to their home – no matter where they are. Wink app is available for free at Apple App Store or Google Play. The hub supports multiple protocols like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, Z-Wave and ZigBee.

Wink Shortcuts allow users to control multiple products with a single tap – from turning on lights in the morning to setting the mood for movie night.

August Smart Lock

With Google Home and Google Assistant support, users can now tell Google to lock or unlock their doors. If they forget, users may also ask Google to check if their doors have been locked. No need to walk back and check. If the door is unlocked, users may then lock it by voice. For now, unlocking the door by voice is not supported.
Control access to your home with Google Assistant. Auto-unlock your door as you approach and automatically locks your door after you enter. And the 24/7 activity log lets users know who opened you door and when.
The exterior door hardware stays the same. August Smart Lock replaces only the interior of your standard deadbolt. Secure Low Energy Bluetooth (LEB) syncs the lock to your smartphone. Retrofit installation works with most standard single cylinder deadbolts. Just connect Wi-Fi Bridge plugs into North American standard outlet.

iRobot Roomba

Since earlier this year, all connected iRobot Roomba robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled via Google Assistant. With voice control, users can start, pause, stop and resume cleaning, locate the Roomba, ask it to return to home base and get its status. All this may also be accomplished via iRobot’s companion app. If there is more than one iRobot, a user will need to specify which device as part of his request.

The patented 3-Stage Cleaning System is specially engineered to loosen, lift and suction everything from small particles to large debris from carpets and hard floors. Dirt Detect sensors alert the Roomba robot vacuum to clean more thoroughly on concentrated areas of dirt. Just press clean or schedule Roomba on the go with the iRobot Home App.

A full suite of intelligent sensors guide the robot under and around furniture to help thoroughly clean the floor.
