DoorBird intercoms convert residence into smart homes

DoorBird intercoms convert residence into smart homes
Launching the world’s first door intercom that can be controlled by standard smartphone with an app in 2009, German IP-based video intercom leader Bird Home Automation continues its aim to bring convenience and security to home residents with advanced technology and door connection. Its brand name DoorBird is now well-known globally in smart homes and buildings.

Three key features bring forth the popularity of DoorBird products: fast connection of audio and visual communication to the door, the flexible integration with major home automation systems in the market, and the subjection to high-standardized German data privacy protection.
"DoorBird overcomes the challenges of diverse user behavior as we minimize the time-lag to provide the true real-time communication with visitors at the door, no matter where our users are,” explained Sascha Keller, CEO & Co-Founder of Bird Home Automation, “We have been working with leading home automation systems in the market such as Control4, Crestron, RTI, and URC to extend DoorBird intercoms’ compatibility, bringing more customized options to our users in both single-family homes and large residential complexes.”

With 25% of sales generated in DoorBird’s local market Germany, Keller considers the German smart home market immature enough compared to US. “Certainly the market is still having a great potential in the coming future. We find home security and home automation like lighting and heating controls the top two demands in Germany, and we will retain our focus on door communication,” commented Keller.

To further smarten home and communities, DoorBird’s latest launch IP converter D301 transforms conventional door intercom systems into IP door intercoms, benefiting dwellers with the advantages of an intelligent door intercom system without the need to replace existing analog device.

“Tenants and owners who are not allowed to change their analog door intercoms can easily upgrade their entrance door with DoorBird D301. This idea perfectly fits DoorBirds’ concept: always to bring a better environment by the solution users really want,” said Keller, “with plenty of standards nowadays, we have always been working on DoorBird’s compatibility with different protocols, brands, and vendors.”

On the way to a better smart home in the prospective future, Keller believes that the reliance on smartphone will bring in greater adoption of smart home automation and control. “Homeowners will understand that smart home has a positive effect, when it comes to convenience and security. We are looking forward to working with more system integrators, installers and product distributors to continuously building remarkable solutions,” said Keller.
