The 2018 edition of Guangzhou Public Security Technology (GPST) will be held from 9 – 12 June at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. The fair will be jointly organized for the first time by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt and the Guangdong Public Security Protection Technology Association.

The show has developed into an unparalleled industry event for security and safety products and solutions in Southern China. The 2018 edition is projected to draw more than 200 quality manufacturers and solution providers of safety and security technologies.

Over 10,000 visitors including representatives of the government’s public security department, systems integrators, industry and trade related buyers as well as research and development bodies are expected to attend.

To facilitate business between exhibitors and target buyers, five intelligent application zones will be set up to highlight top vertical markets, including public safety, intelligent building, smart retail, smart factory and intelligent healthcare. These vertical markets have expanded alongside the safe and smart city sectors due to technological advancements and recent government initiatives that have propelled security industry growth.

Asia Intelligent Security Technology Forum (AIST) to outline development trends and roadmap for adopting new technology

To explore development trends and the ways in which the security industry can proactively adopt new technologies, the Asia Intelligent Security Technology Forum will be held during GPST. The forum will also place a spotlight on new opportunities in the growing smart city sector.

China’s Belt and Road initiative, for example, has created significant business opportunities for the security industry and its stakeholders, especially those in the safe and smart city sectors. This is due to the initiative’s role in boosting the region’s infrastructure which in turn has boosted demand for security products.

Furthermore, technological developments in areas such as artificial intelligence are having deep implications for the security industry. An illustration of this can be seen in the “Security + AI” sector increasingly coming to prominence as a sector in its own right. This sector has been pushed forward as applications of technology such as deep learning in security monitoring systems have become increasingly feasible.

The combination of these numerous prosperous market forces is expected to contribute to a significant upscale in China’s security industry. In fact, the market is expected to reach RMB 961.3 billion by 2022 and achieve an average annual CAGR of 9.81 percent by 2022.

Exploring these market trends and integrated solutions, top scholars, experts and professionals from leading enterprises in the security industry will be present at the Asia Intelligent Security Technology Forum (AIST). The event will serve as a platform for security technology experts, manufacturers, engineers, standard setters, industry departments, the Guangdong provincial construction unit and more, to exchange ideas and interact with each other with regards to the future of the security industry. Forum organisers have also sent out invitations to 30,000 foreign buyers to allow the platform to facilitate two-way communication between Chinese security companies and foreign buyers on technological and commercial perspectives.

Smart driving, smart education, smart healthcare, smart finance, smart security, smart customer service, are among some of the other ‘smart’ themed markets where the forum will aim to identify development trends and opportunities.

Just some of the most noteworthy topics to be discussed will include: the rise of AI as a force for revolutionizing the security industry, a comprehensive analysis on Guangdong’s urban multi-dimensional security protection construction, smart city solutions across multiple industries, applications of AI security on smart building, and the transformation of traditional communities into smart communities.

The AIST forum, together with Guanzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt’s expertise and extensive portfolio of international safety and security trade shows is expected to elevate this year’s show by attracting more international buyers and exhibitors. GPST will also be held in conjunction with Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology. The two shows aim to benefit from a crossover of business opportunities for visitors and exhibitors alike.
