The StaySafe app is available on Exloc Instruments’ recently launched intrinsically safe ATEX Smartphone – providing a reliable safety solution for those operating alone in hazardous locations.

The IS520.1 is a robust, industrial smartphone certified for ATEX Zone 1 and Class I DIV1 hazardous areas. This means the device meets requirements to be safely used in the most volatile of environments, where using a regular mobile device could create an electrostatic discharge, which could cause ignition of a flammable or combustible atmosphere.
The ATEX smartphone’s latest technology is fully compatible with the StaySafe app and all of its features including; timed check-in sessions, panic alerts, discreet panic and man-down alerts.

Why StaySafe with IS520?

Those working in industrial environments with the risk of fires and explosions, are also susceptible to a range of life threatening risks such as; electrocution, falls from height, being struck by a falling object and being struck by a vehicle. In such situations, receiving immediate medical attention could mean the difference between a minor injury or a life changing or even fatal one.
Yet if your employees work alone or over a large, noisy work site, calling for help could prove difficult or even impossible if they are not equipped with a mobile device. Yet mobile devices alone could also prove unreliable. What if the lone worker is knocked unconscious or they are unable to reach their phone?

The StaySafe app ensures someone is alerted in such situations. By running a timed session on the app, missed check-in alerts or session expiries will alert a monitor in situations where the lone worker is unable to send a panic themselves. The man-down functionality, can also be used to detect a fall and alert a monitor.
StaySafe’s low signal mode is also available on the IS520.1, for those working on remote sites where a lack of data can prevent open communication.

With mobile phones offering a cheap yet highly effective way of protecting lone workers, intrinsically safe phones are a crucial tool for those working across oil and energy, utilities, transportation and logistics.

StaySafe with IS520.1, allows businesses to meet their legal duty of care to lone working employees, by providing a safe mobile device along with a reliable, easy to use lone worker safety app.
