Eagle Eye Networks launches enhanced VMS to meet Texas requirements

Eagle Eye Networks announced an enhancement to the Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera VMS that provides Texas school districts immediate compliance with the video surveillance requirements for Special Education set forth in Texas Senate Bill 507 (SB-507). This enhanced product stores video for 90 days, and is available immediately.

Eagle Eye has enhanced its Cloud Security Camera VMS to address the classroom needs dictated by SB-507. The new features have been deployed by multiple major school districts in Texas. The low-cost, easy-to-use cloud-based solution stores video in the Eagle Eye Cloud Data Center in Texas. Deployment of the Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera VMS is quick and easy – school districts can deploy cameras in less than a day. The solution enables easy search, retrieval, and sharing of relevant video clips 24/7. Eagle Eye’s cloud solution ensures the cameras never stop recording, even if the Internet fails.

“Safeguarding students and staff in schools is a priority at Eagle Eye,” said Dean Drako, CEO and founder of Eagle Eye Networks. “We are pleased to be supporting Texas School Districts with this enhanced solution, and it is our goal to meet the security needs of every type of school.”

Under SB-507, Texas Education Code Section 29.022(c)(2), school districts are required to install audio and video monitoring equipment in any classroom in which special education services are being provided to at least 50 percent of the students for at least 50 percent of the school day. The legislation also requires that the camera equipment be capable of “recording audio from all areas of the classroom or other special education setting.” School districts are required to store the audio and video recordings for at least 90 days, and if a video clip is requested, it must be available for the school district to view within 48 hours.

Eagle Eye Networks is a global provider of cloud-based video surveillance solutions addressing the needs of businesses, schools, alarm companies, security integrators, and individuals. The Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera VMS is designed for the cyber-security conscious customer seeking maximum flexibility in their choice of cameras and locations. It also eliminates all the headaches of traditional surveillance systems because there is no software to buy and install, no license keys, and no OS to maintain.
