PTZ cameras continue to play a substantial role in advanced surveillance systems as they deliver unique capabilities that complement other camera form factors such as panoramic multi-sensor cameras. From their ability to provide complete manual operator control to follow a subject with extreme precision or execute programmed movements such as sweeping a large field of view repeatedly, PTZ cameras truly are an extension of their operator. The continued evolution of PTZ cameras in the digital domain is best exemplified with Spectra Enhanced PTZ Cameras from Pelco – the benchmark in HD.

Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras offer viewing from multiple angles and focal ranges to provide operators with unique viewing perspectives. They can swivel horizontally and vertically, and because they are housed in a dome, they can be used in virtually any mainstream application indoors or outdoors. Their extensive range of movement provides outstanding viewing capabilities, allowing operators to view specific areas of interest or change views completely with extreme close-up or wide area views supplemented by the ability to pan, tilt or zoom the camera. And since Spectra PTZ cameras can rotate 360 degrees and move vertically, they can view objects directly below them which is not possible with fixed multi-sensor cameras.

Another key component of the versatility of Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras is that they are integrated with more than 20 video management systems (VMS).

Another key component of the versatility of Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras is that they are integrated with more than 20 video management systems (VMS), including exacqVision, Genetec, Milestone, OnSSI, Vista, Verint, Qulu from Vista, and Qognify to ensure seamless implementation on today’s most prolific surveillance management and control platforms. A complete list of integrations can be viewed here.

Additionally, Pelco is partnered with leading third-party technology partners to ensure seamless integration with innovative system solutions incorporating access control, PSIM, a wide spectrum of analytics such as license-plate recognition, and many other advanced capabilities.

From a pure image capture perspective, Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras set the benchmark in HD resolution and performance. Incorporating Pelco’s exclusive SureVision 3.0 technology, Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras feature a minimum illumination as low as 0.03 lux with 130dB of true wide dynamic range (WDR) to deliver superior low-light performance. They deliver sharp images with very high resolution, enabling advanced capabilities such as facial identification and license plate recognition even at long distances. Additionally, Pelco’s H.264 smart compression technology reduces bitrate usage and storage requirements, typically between 30 percent and 70 percent, depending on the amount of motion in the scene. This can significantly reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).

For applications with high speed action, Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras capture images at up to 60 frames per second, and for extended range surveillance with exceptional clarity, they’re available with powerful 20X and 30X optical zoom lenses. Additional performance features include electronic image stabilization, 3D noise filtering, Power over Ethernet (Hi-PoE and PoE+) operation, three automatic defog options, and enhanced tone mapping to further improve image stability and quality.

Pelco’s Spectra Enhanced PTZ cameras can enhance the performance of any high performance surveillance systems by providing security personnel with the surveillance tool they need to stay on top of their facilities.
