This year’s IFSEC International will showcase a brand new section called Borders and Infrastructure that focuses on products, solutions and learning for large scale security issues such as border control, critical national infrastructure, transport and key strategic assets. According to the organizers, this “show within a show” will see a meeting of major purchasers, policy makers and influencers in large scale security from different parts of the world.

There are mainly three sections within the Borders and Infrastructure Expo. First, Attack Testing Zone, will host expert technicians from LPCB [Loss Prevention Certification Board] showcasing real time examples of the robust testing they execute on perimeter fencing, security doors shutters and covers. Non-approved products will be tested in the demonstrations against LPCB approved alternatives which have reached a minimum of LPS 1175 SR-3 levels of compliance so visitors will be able to see the effectiveness of these industry-defining products.

Being a highlight of the show, the Attack Testing Zone will be featured prominently at the venue accessible to all visitors to the show. After the live attack demonstrations, visitors will be able to interact with the manufacturers of the products.

The Drone Zone

Another key segment within the Borders and Infrastructure Expo will be the Drone Zone. According to some research, commercial drone and UAV market is worth US$700, which itself indicates the enormous potential that the segment offers to businesses. Although there are numerous applications for drones today, in terms of security, the focus lies in commercial and national security. These include surveillance, border control and safety in urban areas and commercial infrastructure.

In situations where human intervention may be considered dangerous, drones can be used for a preliminary assessment. Drones offer an effective and safe option to protect companies, infrastructure and assets.

At the IFSEC International show this year, drone and anti-drone companies will have a dedicated space to exhibit their products. The section will offer visitors a unique chance to witness the various technological advancements in the field and how they can be applicable to the customer requirements.

Networking Opportunities

Apart from the sectors dedicated to various technologies, the Borders and Infrastructure division will also offer visitors several opportunities to interact and maximize their business ROI. For instance, the VIP Meeting Service will be a free service for all exhibitors which will include high level meetings program for industry influencers from the U.K. and other major international markets.

Of course, there will also be a dedicated networking space for the visitors to the Borders and Infrastructure Expo, which will be designed keeping in mind the specific requirements of the customers who will be interested in this segment. This will be accompanied by a Borders and Infrastructure Theatre, which will focus on learning and discussion of large scale security issues like border control and critical infrastructure.
