The keyless world has long been a reality – and SimonsVoss is one of its most prominent pioneers. With their intelligent features, elegant design, sophisticated and yet easy to manage technology, SimonsVoss digital locking and access systems have managed to conquer the world. The company is showing its latest innovations in Essen.

SimonsVoss, leading manufacturer of electronic locking systems and an Allegion plc company will once again be demonstrating its leading role in the field of digital locking systems. Visitors can expect to see the latest further developments of the 20-year proven and continuously optimized locking and access control system 3060: SimonsVoss will be presenting the digital SmartHandle 3062 with its DoorMonitoring function – and the universal control unit SmartRelay 3 3063 Advanced. Further highlights at the trade fair are the intelligent SME solution Mobile Key as an online variant and the very latest developments from the integrated access control product SmartIntego.

SmartHandle with DoorMonitoring function
The latest addition to the locking and access control system 3060 is the digital SmartHandle 3062 with DoorMonitoring function. This elegant and ergonomically designed door fitting can manage access and access authorizations for up to 64,000 users – and the new DoorMonitoring function turns it into an ultra-compact monitoring system. Three integrated sensors constantly check the status of the door and report their results in realtime to the access control system. This way, there is never a doubt about as to whether a door is opened or closed, locked or unlocked. The fitting reports any exceeded time limits or forced opening of the door. Installation is very easy: No cables, no drilling, no exchanging locks. The integrated button cells for power supply last approx. ten years, which is equivalent to about 150,000 locking actions.

Virtually networked: with the new high-performance gateway function
Networked locking for all: This is what the new SimonsVoss SmartRelay generation has to offer. With the new high-performance gateway function, SmartRelay 3 3063 Advanced makes it possible to establish a virtual connection to all locks within a building. In practice, this means a significant increase in terms of comfort and cost saving: The user no longer needs to link each individual locking device to the central control centre by means of a router. All locking devices can be connected to one virtual network. Authorizations for transponders or cards are activated, updated or deactivated at the high-performance gateway – the user obtains full control of their locking devices.

For instance, when entering the building in the morning, employees receive the daily access authorization to their ID medium (card or transponder). This authorization can be assigned to a certain time budget for the use of certain or select locking devices in the building. It stops once the defined time has expired and is updated the next day when the employee authorizes him- or herself at the gateway. If a card is lost, it can be blocked irrespective of the time budget.

SmartRelay 3 3063 – Advanced consists of a controller and a reader. Up to three external readers can be connected. They can be operated with active and passive media (transponders as well as MIFARE® DESFire® and MIFARE® Plus®). With this system, all SimonsVoss offline locking devices can be connected virtually. In connection with the Smart Output module, technical devices and systems, such as elevators, machines, locker systems, etc. can be integrated within the network.

MobileKey – now also as an online version
Small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to exchange their traditional keys with digital transponders, PIN code keypad and smart phone will opt for SimonsVoss MobileKey – enabling them to replace their mechanical cylinders with electronic ones without extensive effort, cables or drilling. The system introduced in 2015 caters to projects designed for up to 20 doors and 100 users and can be very easily configured with the user of a free app. The online extension for MobileKey is new. This means: All connected components of the locking system are directly connected to the server via SmartBridge. In this manner, e.g. authorizations can be changed, virtually in realtime.

Key4Friends is a brilliant additional function of MobileKey: If, for instance, your family is visiting on the weekend, you can grant them time-limited access. The corresponding short-term access codes can simply be sent to the smart phone of the person authorized (Android or iOS), who merely needs to download an app for the process to work. This way, access can be granted for three weeks.

Of course, MobileKey comes with a DoorMonitoring function: This way, you can always see which door is open, closed, locked or unlocked. In addition, an alarm system can also be integrated in the MobileKey system.

SmartIntego – for complex access control systems
SimonsVoss will provide a further highlight at Security Essen with the unique SmartIntego solution. SmartIntego is the ideal solution for the integration of smart locking and access components for existing and complex security systems of all sizes. Its components – SmartIntego locking cylinder, SmartHandle, PinCode terminal and GatewayNode – are seamlessly connected to even the most complex control systems for building security technology. As with all SimonsVoss solutions, work involved in installing SmartInego is exceptionally low – thanks to the autoconfiguration function for all components of the system with the SmartIntego Manager.

One of the comfort features of SmartIntego is the Office mode: Users can individually release doors with their cards in this mode. This way, only authorized individuals are granted access.

In the Online mode, the doors are connected to the central computer – but in Offline mode, the system also remains very flexible. Every GatewayNode agent between the central building security and the periphery can transmit so-called white lists with up to 250 entries from the access control system to the peripheral devices and keep them up to date.
