Speco Technologies releases new Speco Connect Wi-Fi Camera
Speco Technologies, a manufacturer of high definition video surveillance equipment and commercial/residential audio products has released the next camera in their Speco Connect line of WiFi solutions, the O2CP2, a 1080p H.265 WiFi pan/tilt IP camera, perfect for residential and small business applications.
Speco Technologies, a manufacturer of high definition video surveillance equipment and commercial/residential audio products has released the next camera in their Speco Connect line of Wi-Fi solutions, the O2CP2, a 1080p H.265 Wi-Fi pan/tilt IP camera, perfect for residential and small business applications.

The O2CP2 features motorized pan and tilt capabilities for complete control and coverage. With a 350° pan and a -10° to 75° tilt range, the O2CP2 can be remotely controlled through the Speco Connect mobile app, so users can modify the camera’s view angle from anywhere. Additionally, the O2CP2 features H.265 compression, which uses 40 percent less network bandwidth and storage compared to H.264, as well as IR LEDs for true day/night operation, a 3.6mm wide-angle lens to capture as much of the scene as possible, and a built-in microphone and speaker for real-time 2-way audio.

Unlike other consumer-focused WiFi cameras on the market, the Speco Connect cameras offer flexible recording options where users have the choice to record to SecureGuard VMS, edge recording to an onboard micro SD card, local PC recording through a web browser, or recording to a Speco NVR or hybrid unit, eliminating the need for recurring monthly fees. When recording to Speco NVRs or hybrid units, the O2CP2 has the ability to be used in conjunction with Speco’s WiFi access point, the APRPT, allowing the camera to connect to the recorder without affecting the existing local network bandwidth. If the camera is out of range, the APRPT can also be set up as a repeater, which extends the WiFi signal up to 300 feet.

Along with remote pan/tilt control, the O2CP2 also features easy setup through the Speco Connect mobile app. If the camera needs to be connected to any other WiFi routers or access points, the user can easily modify all settings through the app, without having to log into the camera with a PC.
