The embedded application detects moving objects within a predefined area of interest, making it possible to automatically trigger an event.
The application can be used in combination with Aimetis Symphony video management software (VMS), reducing the CPU load of the server, or with any 3rd party VMS which supports the Axis Event Data-Streaming API.
“As an edge analytic, the server CPU is not impacted since image processing happens directly on the camera,” said Marc Holtenhoff, CEO of Aimetis. “This not only reduces hardware cost on new projects but also makes video analytics viable on existing Axis deployments since server hardware does not require upgrading.”
