Let's have a quick look: The TOP 10 seats for May 2014 were taken by Axis, CEM, Dynacolor, Hikvision, Optex, StarVedia, Synectics, and VIVOTEK. Six out of ten awards go to IP surveillance cameras, and half of them are panoramic cameras; nine out of ten products are from the companies of Security 50, while StarVedia is the only non-Security 50 provider.
Speaking of which, two of Hikvision's winners for the last four months have made it to this list once again. Hooray! Meanwhile, VIVOTEK's panoramic camera has its comeback after three months. Other than that, the rest of the seven products on the list for May 2014 are all new comers.
1. Hikvision DS-2CD2412F-I(W) 1.3MP IR Cube Network Camera
HOORAY! The fifth crowned-month in a row since its first honor in December 2013! Hikvision DS-2CD2412F-I (W) 1.3MP IR Cube Network Camera takes the first place of TOP 10 for May, gaining 595 clicks in total, with slight increase from 529-click in April. As always, more than half viewers came from America, whereas Asian and European take up the other half. This cube camera comes with passive infrared sensor (PIS) and is capable of detecting objects within a range of 10 meters; meanwhile, this IR Cube camera is able to sustain a weather of -30 °C ~ 60 °C (-22 °F ~ 140 °F).
2. Synectics 5MP 360-degree Camera
The second place goes to a new face, Synectics 5MP 360-degree camera, receiving massive supports from Asia and America – 41% and 39% respectively – among the total amount of 346 clicks. The is the first out of three panoramic cameras in the TOP 10 last month, as panoramic fisheye camera has become a hot topic recently. This megapixel panoramic camera embedded with progressive CMOS sensor, coming with quad viewer, motion detection, ePTZ, and IR Cut filter removal.
3. CEM Emerald
Coming to the third place, another new comer, CEM Emerald smart card reader is following closely behind with 327 click-through rate from viewers worldwide. Interestingly, this product has gained quite even attention from Asia, America, and Europe (23%, 36%, 38%), unlike most of the products are specifically favored by one of the area. CEM Emerald is designed with 4.3” LCD tough screen, integrated with voice over IP (VoIP) intercom.
4. StarVedia IC711w Wireless Camera
The fourth place here is also taken by a new comer, StarVedia IC711w wireless camera, which had its recent appearance in a&s SMAhome (https://www.asmag.com/showpost/17116.aspx). The IC711 series, a new lineup featuring a smaller size and more functions, gained 302 click-through rates in total – 38% and 39% are taken up by viewers in Asia and America respectively. IC711 is set up as an application-driven design. Instead of using a module, the Wi-Fi chip and antenna are embedded on the camera board making this device more compact as the performance is maximized.
5. Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-I(W) 3MP IR Cube Network Camera
Sitting at the fifth place, Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-I(W) 3MP IR Cube Network Camera has made it into this list for the sixth times in a row. Since its first appearance in TOP 10 list in December 2013, this IR Cube camera has been one of the hot products on the TOP10 throughout the last six months with a steady click-through rate. This 3MP Cube Cam has received a total of 300-click coming dominantly from America with 64%, 20% from Europe, and 15% from Asia.
6. Axis M3027-PVE 5MP Panoramic Fixed Mini-Dome
Chasing right behind at the sixth place is Axis M3027-PVE panoramic fixes mini-dome, taking 290 clicks among the global viewers – almost half of it is contributed by American area, whereas Asian viewers take up a prominent 37%. Axis M3027 is the second panoramic camera awarded on the Top 10 for May, featuring 360/180-degree view, 5-megapixel resolution, and vandal resistance. This camera is deal for people-tracking management especially in public areas.
7. VIVOTEK FE8174V 5MP 360-degree Fisheye Fixed Dome
Let's welcome VIVOTEK FE8174V's comeback in May 2013. It was first included in the TOP 10 earlier this year with an obvious preference from Europe. As panoramic cameras have become a topic lately, this 5MP 360-degree fisheye fixed dome camera successfully drew the attention of American and Asian viewers, with 49% and 37% respectively, in a total of 287-click.
8. Hikvision TV2810D-MPIR Vari-Focal IR Lens
The eighth place, following right after with a total of 268 clicks, is taken by another new face, Hikvision TV2810D-MPIR Vari-Focal IR Lens, drawing most attention from America viewers with 44%; Asian 31%; and 22% from European. This 3-megapixel vari-focal IR lens, featuring focal length of 2.8-10mm, is capable of delivering high-performance day-and-night view and satisfies the challenges from low-light conditions.
9. Dynacolor DynaGuard I Series Embedded Linux System NVR
The ninth place is also taken by a newcomer, Dynacolor DynaGuard I Series, with 267-click in total, only a tiny step behind the previous award. Interestingly, this latecomer received a major support from European countries with a percentage of 47, unlike others that came from America or Asia. DynaGuard I Series NVR is a 6-ch Linux-embedded NVR; it is an idea storage allowing system integrators to reduce expenditure on network bandwidth and equipment. Meanwhile, users are able to monitor remotely by using specific mobile device APP on the smart phones.
10. Optex SL-650QN Quad Beams Active Infrared (AIR) sensor
Last but not least the tenth goes to Optex SL-650QN Quad Beams Active Infrared Sensor, the seventh new face in the TOP10 this month. As it may be the last on this list, the Optex sensor is still eye-catching among all the others, receiving a noticeable 148-click from American area with the total clicks of 260. Optex SL-650QN features Quad beam with aspherical lenses; the new telescope lens has a high level of visibility for optical alignment work. The detection range goes from 60m/100m/200m.
