[Secutech2014] Chuango makes alarm systems less hideous

[Secutech2014] Chuango makes alarm systems less hideous
At Secutech 2014, Chuango is showcasing its line of thoughtfully designed control panels, including one disguised as a tabletop alarm clock and doubles as a bluetooth speaker.

The control panels of home alarm systems have a long-standing history of sticking out like a sore thumb. Home security and automation system manufacturer Chuango is on a mission to give them a facelift, as well as make systems easier to install and operate. At Secutech 2014, Chuango is showcasing its line of thoughtfully designed control panels, including one disguised as a tabletop alarm clock and doubles as a bluetooth speaker.

Also on display is its fledgling “remote switch system,” which allows users to remotely control their home appliances via a smartphone app. Users can also configure the switches to turn on or off according to a user-defined schedule. The switches also have a built-in thermostat, so users can monitor a room's temperature via the app. Both GPRS and Wi-Fi versions are available.

At the moment, Chuango's alarm system and remote switch system require different apps, but a unified app is currently in development and is expected to launch in Q3. Chuango is also working on a cloud service that will enable them to roll out more advanced features.
