IMS: The Latin America and Asian control room market to grow $900M
The Latin American total command and control room market (including technology and services) is set to increase from an estimated $550 million in 2013, to almost $900 million in 2018
  • The Latin American total command and control room market (including technology and services) is set to increase from an estimated $550 million in 2013, to almost $900 million in 2018.
  • The Asian total command and control room market (including technology and services) is set to grow from over $860 million in 2013 to almost $1.5 billion in 2018.
  • IHS understands there is increasing uptake of services in both Asia and Latin America, however much of the services are provided by local system integrators and suppliers rather than international suppliers.
  • CCTV Integration Software is becoming increasingly significant, particularly in larger urban control rooms. Whilst there does seem to be general movement towards converged capability control rooms it remains aspirational in many regions, with IHS expecting this to be become more significant in five to ten years.
  • Emergency number upgrades will drive a lot of growth in the control room spending over the forecast period, with many countries rolling out new single emergency numbers as part of increasing investment in emergency response services and efficiency improvements.
  • In Asia, IHS expects that China and India are likely to dominate the control room market over the next five years, with huge investment in public safety, transportation and utilities control rooms expected.

The findings of this research are taken from the IHS study ‘Command and Control Rooms – Asia and Latin America – 2014'. This two part study analyses the installed base of seats and control room systems for transportation, utilities and particularly public safety control rooms as well as the revenues from key technologies and services, forecasting changes across the next five years. The reports provide extensive country breakouts and include detailed analysis of factors affecting the command and control market now and in the future.
