iControl Networks, a developer and provider of connected home technology and innovation, recently launched its FastTrack App Partner Program, an initiative that connects app developers with leading cable service providers for in-home app distribution. iControl Networks, a developer and provider of connected home technology and innovation, recently launched its FastTrack App Partner Program, an initiative that connects app developers with leading cable service providers for in-home app distribution. It allows Android apps to be easily and quickly certified and be compatible with touch screens that support the iControl Converge deployment solution, which powers leading home solutions such as Comcast's Xfinity Home, Time Warner Cable's IntelligentHome and Rogers Smart Home Monitoring, among others.

iControl-powered deployment solutions provide consumers with innovative home monitoring and management, all at the touch of a finger. Touch screen devices serve as the home's control center where users can arm/disarm the security system, adjust temperature, turn on/off lights and more. Now, thanks to the FastTrack Program, the same touch screen devices will provide users access to a world of apps aimed at improving ease and convenience while in the home.

"The FastTrack Program is a key component in further developing the connected home and opens a new distribution channel for app developers," said Jason Domangue, VP of Ecosystem Development. "FastTrack makes it easy and seamless for app developers to team with leading cable service providers for in-home distribution, and increases comfort and convenience for consumers by providing unique, innovative apps tailored for the smart home."

Inaugural members of the FastTrack Program include:
- Life360 – Location and communication for families
- MapQuest – Maps and traffic
- News Republic – Customizable global news alerts
- TuneIn – Online radio and music streaming
- Weather Channel – Detailed forecasts and future radar

App developers interested in joining the FastTrack Program can sign up for a developer's program kit on the iControl website. Certified applications will live in iControl's marketplace and become accessible to millions of consumers around the globe. "Our ultimate goal is to create an ecosystem with limitless possibilities for connectivity that takes the smart home to a new level," said Jim Johnson, SVP and GM of iControl's Austin office. "With the help of innovative app partners, consumers now have access to interactive, next-generation tools that make life healthier, happier, easier and more efficient."
