Winners of the Secutech Excellence Awards were announced at the 2013 edition of Secutech International in Taiwan. The awards aim to highlight the trends, technical advances and top performers in IP-based video surveillance. The judges marveled at key improvements in IP camera functions, in terms of facial recognition, auto back focus, self-diagnosis as well as storage capacity/flexibility.
Winners of the Secutech Excellence Awards were announced at the 2013 edition of Secutech International in Taiwan. The awards aim to highlight the trends, technical advances and top performers in IP-based video surveillance. The judges marveled at key improvements in IP camera functions, in terms of facial recognition, auto back focus, self-diagnosis as well as storage capacity/flexibility.
The products were examined by six industry experts from Taiwan, Brazil, Spain and South Africa, and the evaluation results were combined with 284 international visitors' votes casted on-site. Rafael Carmisin Duarte, from Brazilian distributor Intelbras, commented on the improved user friendliness of all the IP camera and NVR entries, as one of the judges on the panel: “All were remarkable. They deserve everyone's attention, and all the finalists should be proud of themselves.” Parson Lee, MD of organizer Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media, added: “We are glad to see that many products continued to show improvement, and I am expecting to see even more innovative and advanced products at next year's awards.”
There were 25 entries in total; among them, six products received the IP Camera Excellence Award, and three were given the NVR Excellence Award. The winning products were:

Tunisian visitor Nidhal Jerbi, Manager for Multicom, was one of the voters. “[The awards] provided useful product information from many, so I could compare and choose the products I want,” he said. Multicom is one of the leading distributors of Brickcom, Honeywell Security and Samsung Techwin in Tunisia.
Secutech International, an annual exhibition and conference for the electronic security, info security and fire & safety industries, attracted 510 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions as well as 25,807 professional visitors from 100 countries and regions in 2013. The next edition of Secutech International and related awards will be held from March 19 to 21 in 2014.
