Italian high speed train keeps exterior eyes vibration-resistant
In 2012, Italy’s high-speed luxurious train, Frecciarossa, operated by Trenitalia, deployed Brickcom’s vibration-resistant network domes for exterior monitoring on more than 100 trains. The train provides transportation service along the Alta Velocita line between Turin and Salerno. Being the fastest train in Italy, Frecciarossa serves as the symbol of Italy's high-class national mobility.

In 2012, Italy's high-speed luxurious train, Frecciarossa, operated by Trenitalia, deployed Brickcom's vibration-resistant network domes for exterior monitoring on more than 100 trains. The train provides transportation service along the Alta Velocita line between Turin and Salerno. Being the fastest train in Italy, Frecciarossa serves as the symbol of Italy's high-class national mobility.

The Frecciarossa trains have monitors in the coaches, displaying the information about the journey, news, videos, and others. To provide guests with an even more enjoyable traveling experience, Trenitalia, was looking for a camera system which can deliver the high-quality videos train exterior on the move.

This application is a great challenge for the camera, since the camera must be durable in a constantly vibrating environment, exposure to natural elements such as rain and dust, while at the same time transmitting clear videos when the train moves at a maximum speed of 360 kilometer per hour.

The HD 720p network domes and HD 1080p network domes were selected because they are EN50155 certified, which means they can stand the constant vibration on the transportation vehicle. Both cameras are also IP67 weather-proof and IK-10 vandal-proof, and therefore are highly capable of the outdoor surveillance applications. Both cameras utilize H.264 video streaming technology using PoE connection, and have built-in-Micro-SD card slots to support the local video backup for the VMS system.
