Put up a good show at Taipei Metro

The Taipei Metro in Taiwan recently deployed 65 AG Neovo video surveillance display monitors to keep track of passengers and trains at the new Xinyi Line route to be opened at the end of 2013.

After eight years of construction, the Xinyi Line is due to become operational at the end of the year. Intended as the second high-capacity metro route traversing Taipei from east to west, it is expected to serve 120,000 passengers per day. Besides easing congestion along the Banqiao Line, it will help diversify the Taipei metro network and even out passenger volume on the entire metro system.

At the line's seven stations, 25 units of video surveillance display monitors are assigned to information desks where on duty staff browse surveillance images and train information. On the platform a total of 41 32-inch display monitors enable the conductor to monitor the safety of passengers boarding and alighting. Crafted to stay on duty 24/7, both models come with components sufficiently protected against high voltage surges, a scenario not uncommon for Taipei Metro.

Furthermore, train-rail friction tends to cause fine particles of dust that readily fall on and become attached to the displays. The 32-inch display monitors is thus equipped with metal casing, a glass-protected panel and heat emission holes pointing downwards. The last feature is designed to prevent dust ingression from blocking heat emission.

In addition, AG Neovo's proprietary optical glass technology lowers glare and reflection, and the monitors come with anti-burn-in technology to prevent screen burn, or better known as ghosting.
