Featuring 990 exhibitors from 54 countries, Intersec 2013 was 7 percent larger than the previous edition and welcomed 21,615 visitors from 118 countries, enjoying a 10-percent increase in trade visitor numbers.

Intersec 2013 was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was accompanied by senior officials from Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Police, Dubai Police Academy and Hans-Joachim Otto, the German Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The top five visiting countries, after the United Arab Emirates, were Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.
