INSIGHTS

Top Italian security solutions providers at Sicurezza

In collaboration with KF Economics, a&s Italy sifted through countless financial reports and ranked the first ever “Top 25” Italian security leaders. The survey carves out a clear picture of the key players in the Italian market, providing insight into the conditions and trends that drive the sector. Find out more at Sicurezza in Milan, on November 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the IP Security Room.
Despite the pan-European financial crisis, the Italian security sector has been resilient and is performing remarkably well; however, it has never been seriously considered by mainstream market analysts. An unquestioned leader in security trade publications in the region, a&s Italy has filled the information void by publishing surveys and reports over the years

This year,a&s Italy took another quantum leap by following the strong tradition of a&s International and its annual ranking “Security 50,” dedicated to leading global security solutions providers, and came up with a “ranking” of the players dominating the Italian market. “It was a complex and thorny task, so we had to look for the support of KF Economics (a K Finance Group company), an absolutely authoritative partner, with which we share values, strategies and the vision,” said Andrea Sandrolini, Publisher of a&s Italy and CEO of Ethos Media Group.

The
result is the first-ever “Italian Security Leaders, Top 25” survey, which examines the financial results of the companies that belong to the Italian security sector (manufacturers, distributors and systems integrators), without neglecting the specific features of this sector such as the sometimes blurry mix between manufacturers and distributors or the presence of MNCs in which security is only a business unit.

The key objective of the survey is to provide a framework for the Italian security industry, removing everything that is outside security or that is merely a side commercial offer. This was a perilous job, but for the first time someone attempted to measure the performance and profitability of a sector which is difficult and sensitive to classify.

The survey analyst also expressed his heavy burden of responsibility throughout the project. “To work with a&s Italy allowed us to proceed with confidence in a sector which is extremely dynamic and continuously evolving, and that is why it presented a high analytical and computational complexity,” admitted Paolo Lasagni, CEO of KF Economics.

The result is a survey that shows, with journalistic integrity and neutrality, a picture of the performances of the key players in the Italian security market, thus providing particularly relevant elements to focus on and shedding light on the conditions and trends that drive the sector.
