Our cameras are used within a number of varied applications; residential, retail, hospitality, education etc. However, once in a while we receive notice of an application that astounds us for its innovation and uniqueness. Our Scottish farm set-up fits this perfectly and we hope that Mrs. Moore's story will be able to help many more in the same predicament.

Requirements
Mrs Moore owns a thriving livestock farm in Stirlingshire, Scotland, where a growing number of her cattle were calving, leaving her and her team to become exhausted after being forced to take up an hour round trip every night in addition to their 12 hour working days, simply to observe the progress of the herd and the potential new born calves.

After continuing with this process for a number of weeks, it became apparent that it was not sustainable as the staff's daytime shifts were continuously becoming affected.

There was a pressing need for a solution that would allow Mrs. Moore and the farm staff to monitor the herd without having to travel unnecessarily; spending an increasing amount on petrol and most importantly, saving the lives of her cattle.

Solution
Mrs. Moore searched for a solution online, where she came across IP cameras and, in-turn, Y-cam Solutions; a simple and cost effective solution that met all her requirements.

The installation of an IP camera provided instant access to the farm; she could see and hear exactly what was happening with her cattle at any time from the comfort of her home, a number of miles away from the farm.

Outcome
Mrs. Moore's current installation is proving to be extremely valuable. The system is saving her over $ 7942 per year in travel cost alone, as well as providing invaluable assurance that her livestock are monitored 24/7, with the solution's instant access capabilities.

The farm's set-up assures all is well, even throughout the night, when she and the staff are not around. The system enables them all to stay in-the-know and react quickly if and when a situation arises, reducing the chance of distress and loss of cattle.

The farm's system currently consists of a Knight SD, monitoring one of their calving barns; however, due to the on-going success, Mrs. Moore is looking to install a further two ‘monitoring' cams as well as a number of security cameras.
