New housing complexes are sprouting up on the outskirts of Taipei as housing prices in the city center skyrocket. MeHAS city, a huge housing complex of some 1,600 apartments is nearing the end of construction. The complex comprises 13 buildings and a 700,000 square feet shopping mall, overlooking the Xin-Dian River that meanders out to the Taiwan Strait.

An ambitious housing project like MeHAS city will provide not only an assortment of amenities, but more importantly, robust security measures for residents. The housing complex had advanced surveillance and emergency help systems incorporated into the design of the buildings. A perimeter security system that integrates IP cameras with emergency pushbutton and communication system was one of such efforts geared toward making the complex comfort yet secure.

With the safety and welfare of future residents in mind, MeHAS embarked on a search for a perimeter security solution that best suits its needs. After consulting with a local system integrator that had maintained a business relationship with Compro for years, MeHAS city decided to deploy Compro IP55 megapixel network cameras in its perimeter security system. Compro IP55 was chosen by MeHAS city for its excellent cost-to-performance ratio, built-in IO interface and IO integration capability, and above all, clear and low-latency two-way voice communication function.

In the end, a total of 200 Compro IP55 network cameras were installed at the perimeter of this housing complex. The camera's speaker and microphone and the pushbutton connected to it allow for real-time bi-directional communication between the security staff and the people involved in emergency situations. When complete, MeHAS city will transform the skyline on Taipei city's south side. And these Compro network cameras will provide the residents a sense of security wherever they are on the complex.
