The City of Quincy, Washington, announced its partnership with SST, the world leader and innovator in wide-area acoustic surveillance and gunfire location and alert technology, to subscribe to SST's ShotSpotter solution to detect and locate gunfire incidents and gather gunfire intelligence in its effort to fight crime and violence in its city.

ShotSpotter will be delivered to the Quincy Police Department in a subscription-based services offering, making it more affordable and more easily deployed, and without the burden and cost of managing hardware and additional IT and other resources. The Quincy PD will leverage the actionable intelligence and real-time and immediate gunshot location data provided by ShotSpotter to support its strategic policing measures in a designated ShotSpotter coverage area.

In recent years the City of Quincy has experienced a gun violence problem as gangs have extended their reach to this small city. In response, the Quincy PD, city leadership, community leaders, and various organizations have undertaken strategies to curb violent activity. While these initiatives have been impactful, Quincy's political and public safety leadership are committed to making Quincy as safe as possible and is partnering with SST to leverage the ShotSpotter solution to respond to gun violence more effectively. In the partnership, the Quincy PD will receive the critical gunfire data provided by the ShotSpotter solution and enabled by SST's acoustic sensor infrastructure. The technology will be deployed in areas with high concentrations of illegal gunfire and the Quincy PD will use the newly attainable data for its strategic and tactical policing operations, crime analysis, investigations, and prosecutorial efforts.
