Secutech Vietnam 2011 set a new attendance record of 4,529 visitors for the show, held August 24 to 26 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City. The fourth exhibition was co-organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media and VIETFAIR.

Parson Lee, MD of Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media said: “Our new visitor record was an 18 percent increase compared to our 2010 show. It proves that Secutech Vietnam is the most professional platform for security and fire safety in Vietnam for sourcing and networking opportunities. More than 4,000 local distributors, dealers and installers from the security channel attended our show. Besides, we welcomed visitors from 20 countries and regions from around the globe, including Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.”

Secutech Vietnam attracted 103 exhibitors, including Avigilon, Basler, Bosch Security Systems, Fujifilm, Honeywell Security, Motorola, Panasonic Systems Asia Pacific and Sony Corporation. The show also welcomed D&M, Kocom, Pentabridge and other providers from Korea. Exhibitors included 3S Pocketnet, Brickcom, Qnap, Merit LILIN and Vivotek from Taiwan and local Vietnamese brands iON, Le Phat, Van Tech and VTech. Together, the exhibitors showcased more than 500 advanced products and solutions.

Exhibiting at the show for the first time was CSST International from China. Jeff Mei, the company's Project Manager for its International Integration Center said Vietnam was an important market because of growing demand for security products. He added, “Visitor quality was high, many buyers represented the government or large-scale companies and were interested in our security and surveillance products. Secutech Vietnam is a good show which offers opportunities to work closely with Vietnamese companies.”

TDSi from the U.K. was also happy with the buyers they met at the show. John Davies, the company's MD, said, “Secutech Vietnam was a great show! I met a lot of high quality visitors and had the opportunity to talk to local professional distributors, who may become potential partners in the future. I was very impressed by the professionalism of Secutech Vietnam.”

Another exhibitor, Vivotek from Taiwan, already plans to participate in Secutech Vietnam 2012. William Ku, Director of Brand Business Division, said, “Secutech Vietnam is a professional and international trade platform. We have a chance to network with business partners, as well as meeting new clients. Vivotek is optimistic about the Vietnamese market and we will expand business here.”

Bryan He, Director of Secom from Vietnam, a supplier of IP and high-end products, believed that the show was a good platform for raising brand awareness and networking. He said: “The quality of visitors has improved and most are decision makers and top management. We met visitors from Cambodia, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam and we have already received orders.” Mr. Giang from Nhat Nam, another Vietnamese exhibitor, was also satisfied with the show. “Secutech Vietnam is the biggest security show in Vietnam in recent years,” he said. “Most buyers were very professional. We hope to see more fire safety buyers in the future.”

Network cameras are one of the hottest products in Vietnamese security. To meet market needs, Secutech Vietnam created the first-ever IP Camera Demo, enabling a live side-by-side comparison of network cameras. Cameras on display included ones from Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems, Brickcom, Panasonic, Secom, Sony and Vivotek, providing an opportunity for channel players and buyers to see camera performance firsthand.

The event attracted many attendees and received positive feedback. Visitor Huynh Ngoc Dang Khoa said: “This is the first event in Vietnam where we can see seven brands demonstrating their products at the same time. We found many network camera solutions.” Mr Khoa, Project Executive from Anviettek, Vietnam, said, “Next year I hope to see more global IP suppliers here.”

Four professional seminars were held during the show. They were the Global Digital Surveillance Forum (GDSF) Vietnam, Fire & Safety Seminar, Industrial Safety Seminar and the Vertical Market Applications Seminar.

GDSF Vietnam was the highlight of the show, with industry experts presenting case studies and introducing IP hardware and software applications. Speaker Truong Tuan Kiet, Senior Sales Representative of Security Systems, Robert Bosch Vietnam, said: “The objective of the forum was to share success stories, solutions and experience with the audience. For example, Vietnam's transportation system is being developed rapidly and I believe Bosch's experience can contribute to development in Vietnam.”

Speaking at the Industrial Safety Seminar, Jonathan Sinar from RSM Fire Security and Traffic of Xtralis introduced early warning detection for industrial and hazardous environments. He commented: “The seminar was well-received and the audience was professional, with some being industry consultants.”
