RADWIN, the global provider of Backhaul and Broadband Wireless Solutions, announced that the Kildare County Council in Ireland deployed the RADWIN 5000 high capacity Point-to-MultiPoint solutions (HPMP). RADWIN 5000 HPMP deliver traffic information and CCTV images from video cameras installed throughout the county back to the Kildare Traffic Management Center. Bandwidth Telecommunications Limited, a leading SI in Ireland, was in charge of project design and implementation.

Scott Fennelly, Senior Executive Technician at the Traffic Management Dept. in Kildare County, said: “We sought a new traffic management system that would allow us to manage traffic from a central location. Costs had to be kept as low as possible so aspects of cabling and civil work were to be kept to an absolute minimum. After assessing various options we chose RADWIN 5000 HPMP because it allowed us to establish a wireless surveillance network rapidly and affordably, and the systems deliver high quality video in real-time directly to our NOC.”

Eamonn O'Donnell, President of Bandwidth Telecommunications, said: “RADWIN 5000 Point-to-MultiPoint met the needs of this project and the installation was easily carried out. The subscriber units are lightweight and unobtrusive, and RADWIN 5000 operates in the toughest conditions including non line of sight scenarios.”

Mark Sutton, RADWIN's MD UK, Ireland & Scandinavia, said: “RADWIN 5000 sets a new level of performance and robustness. It is ideal for video surveillance applications, delivering 24x7 high quality video in real time from any point. We are happy to serve the needs of the Kildare council today and in the future.”
