ComNet, Communication Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, a USA-based manufacturer of fiber optic transmission and networking equipment, has announced that Christopher Costa has been appointed as the company’s VP of Engineering.

ComNet, Communication Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, a USA-based manufacturer of fiber optic transmission and networking equipment, has announced that Christopher Costa has been appointed as the company's VP of Engineering.

Christopher Costa will report directly to Andrew Acquarulo Jr., ComNet President and COO. Until joining ComNet, Costa previously held the role of Director of Engineering at Radiant Communications and Fiber Options/GE Security and has more than 20 years of experience in the development of successful new products for the physical security industry.

Costa will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the ComNet engineering department including the development and expansion of the ComNet fiber optic and Ethernet transmission product line and planned engineering department expansion.

David Ellison, VP of Global Product Management
Shawn Mokhtari, VP of International Integration

Cross Match Technologies, a global provider of biometric identity solutions, announced that David Ellison will lead Product Management and Shawn Mokhtari will be in charge of International Integration.

David Ellison has joined Cross Match as VP, Global Product Management. A former VP of Programs and Product Management for Vectronix, an electro-optics supplier to the defense and homeland security markets, he brings diverse knowledge and expertise to this new position.

Mr. Ellison is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure successful launch of new products.

Shawn Mokhtari has joined Cross Match as VP, International Integration. In his most recent position, Mr. Mokhtari was Operations Program Manager for Hewlett Packard's Global Business Unit. He worked closely with contract manufacturing and engineering teams in the U.S. and China and was responsible for the HP Touchpad product ramp-up and launch.

Tzu-Yin Chiu, CEO and Executive Director

Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, China's largest and most advanced semiconductor foundry, announced the appointment of Dr. Tzu-Yin Chiu as CEO and Executive Director, effective immediately.

Dr. Chiu is a distinguished semiconductor industry executive with over 27 years of experience in the industry and a track record of managing successful semiconductor manufacturing companies at the executive level. Prior to joining SMIC as CEO and Executive Director, Dr. Chiu was President and CEO of Hua Hong NEC Electronics Company Limited, VP and COO of Shanghai Huali Microelectronics Corporation, President and COO of Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Senior VP and COO of Hua Hong International Management Shanghai, President of Hua Hong Semiconductor International Shanghai, Senior VP of Shanghai Operations at Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), and Senior Director of Fab Operations at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC).

Nigel Eastaugh, Senior Project Manager

CitySync, leaders in ANPR solutions, announced the appointment of Nigel Eastaugh to take on the role of Senior Project Manager.

Eastaugh joins us after a 30 year police career with the Metropolitan Police, Hertfordshire Constabulary and secondment with the National Policing Improvements Agency (NPIA), followed by support staff service as a Technical Project Manager with the Metropolitan Police. Eastaugh has gained extensive experience and knowledge in the design and development of ANPR infrastructures from inception through to installation and commissioning.

Most recently he was Senior Technical Project Manager for the Metropolitan Police Olympic ICT Group responsible for delivering a significant ANPR solution for the security of venues for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Eastaugh worked for a number of Regional & National groups including 4 years as Secretary of the National ACPO ANPR Countermeasures Work Group. As a result, Eastaugh gained valuable experience in gathering the necessary user requirements to build detailed Statement of Requirements and progressing projects through the procurement process in the public sector. This knowledge gives Eastaugh a great insight in to what is required to help CitySync secure significant public sector business.
