March Networks, a provider of IP video solutions, announced that Autovie Venete has selected a March Networks IP video solution to enhance surveillance and monitoring across 14 major toll motorways in Northern Italy. More than 40 million vehicles a year travel these roads, including a steady increase in commercial vehicles en route to Eastern Europe. The solution will be fully deployed by mid-2011, enabling Autovie to improve public and employee safety through proactive monitoring and HD video surveillance.

Autovie is working with March Networks solution provider Test to deploy more than a dozen VMS servers, client software and approximately 150 March Networks network cameras across its locations. The solution allows the organization to record high-quality video images and efficiently monitors all sites in real time from a central location, which vastly improves security and loss prevention. The cameras include HD PTZs dedicated to covering heavy commercial vehicle lanes; PTZs installed in underground employee corridors linking toll booths; and HD cameras capturing activity in exit lanes, corporate buildings and sensitive areas such as the server and safe rooms.
