Flir Systems, announced has teamed with Sonardyne International, UK on a substantial multimillion dollar project in the United Arab Emirates. The companies, with Flir as the project leader, will provide a commercial-off-the shelf, integrated perimeter and coastal protection solution for a key coastal facility. The installed solution will provide multidimensional, wide area surveillance above and below the water line for comprehensive perimeter security.

The companies, with Flir as the project leader, will provide a commercial-off-the shelf, integrated perimeter and coastal protection solution for a key coastal facility. The installed solution will provide multidimensional, wide area surveillance above and below the water line for comprehensive perimeter security.
Under the contract, Flir will provide ground surveillance radars as well as thermal and CCD imagers. Sonardyne will provide its diver detection sonar which automatically detects, tracks and classifies underwater threats at long ranges. As with all Flir solutions, the entire system will be integrated via the Flir command and control software platform to display radar, sonar and optical data onto a single common operating picture.
