Mike Newton, the Founder of Dedicated Micros, and AD Group's CEO and CTO, is to take-up the role of President of Dedicated Micros' American Operations, with immediate effect. Moving forward, it is intended that Newton will divide his time between Chantilly overseeing the strategic direction of business operations in the Americas and AD Group's worldwide headquarters in Warrington, England.

Newton, who is an influential figure in the global security industry, has a career which spans more than three decades. He is the force behind Dedicated Micros.

Turning to the genesis of Dedicated Micros, and other AD Group brands, the foundations were laid back in the 1980s. During this time Newton was directly responsible for bringing to market the commercially viable CCTV multiplexer which proved to be an instant success and is still recognized as a major landmark in the expansion of video surveillance.

Shortly after leaving University in Manchester with a degree in computer science, Newton started Dedicated Micros in 1982. It grew rapidly into a multimillion-dollar business with offices worldwide. In 1997 he set up AD Group where he focused his efforts on mobile surveillance solutions for aviation, video over IP through the original incarnation of AD network video and remotely monitored surveillance, with offices in the U.K. and U.S. In 2001, Newton created a single global force, encompassing all AD Group brands including Dedicated Micros delivering a video platform across mobile and fixed security applications.

“I am delighted to be able to take up this leadership position as President of Dedicated Micros, and look forward to working closely with my colleagues, our partners and customers across the Americas in the months ahead,” Newton said. “Our operation in the region, from our headquarters in Chantilly and manufacturing plant in Orlando, remains a strategically vital part of Dedicated Micros' global business and we plan to rapidly expand the presence we have in the marketplace, especially in North America, including making IP-based surveillance technology accessible at the mid-range dealer, installer and customer level. This upsurge is built upon strong investment in training, technical support and research and development.”
