The new industrial age is data-dominated. Modern industry captures multiple data points, the ability to centralize data into a unified, time-and-space-aware system gives forward thinking manufacturers the ability to detect anomalies and connect findings to machine learning algorithms.
The Intel Industrial Summit 2020 focused on how hardware and software can help companies solve problems, get to market faster, and make effective investments for the future.
Intel’s summit focused on bringing their partners to the front. With more than 40 partners across North America, Europe, and Asia, the summit showcased the latest Industry 4.0 inventions, based on AI, machine vision, 5G, TSN, and more.
Keynotes and panels lead by Intel leadership discussed introduced the potential of IoT and how it can be leveraged through the Intel ecosystem as well as scaling AI In industrial markets, provisioning, scaling, and securing IoT devices, the IT concepts and convergence in OT environments and how COVID-19 impacts the factory of today and the needs of tomorrow.
Sessions included a panel with executives from Mayniland Water Services, Techman Robot and
Advantech on discussing how they’re enabling solutions that meet the digitalization needs of industrial end users. Companies like Heysoft, Techman and others shared their experience in using software
tools like Intel Edge Controls for Industrial (Intel ECS) and
Intel Edge Insights for Industrial (Intel EIS) and Functional Safety Solutions (FuSa) on the latest Intel processors. EIS ingests, processes, and stores the image data from camera input, and integrates AI-AOI with AI algorithms that leverage the
Intel OpenVINO Toolkit.
Partner presentations included
ADlink showcasing how Edge AI vision could be deployed to assist AOI and successfully enable a manufacturer to increase the inspection accuracy and throughput compared with tradition machine vision.
Advantech discussed the importance real-time, cross-technology integration and collaboration in edge computing platforms and sensing devices to unleash the power of edge intelligence.
Intel demos showed how
Hitachi Industrial Products introduced transitioning industrial control systems to software-defined solutions using its software-defined robot control concept, implementing ECS and OpenVINO.
The showcase demos demonstrated how partners use Intel’s full stack of IoT solutions that are critically important to building the modern factory—and bring real value for IoT developers: achieve better machine condition monitoring, logistics, asset and operations optimization, human wellness, energy monitoring/management, and much more.
