Taipei, Taiwan, January 2011 –
QNAP Security, the premium Linux-based and PC-less NVR solution provider, today announces its NVR compatibility enhancement which enables users to select among a wide range of IP cameras and video servers; more than 1,000 models including most professional brands. Furthermore, ONVIF standardization (Open Network Video Interface Forum) allows full usage of the Viostor NVR firmware 3.3.1.
The VioStor PRO series demonstrates its performance for local display and live view with the full HD monitoring of IP cameras over the network. This will make users’ experience a truly plug-and-play. In additions to the PRO series, Viostor NVR version 3.3.1 has included such new functions as the “Auto video snapshot savings” and the “Specific channel remote setting” which will enable users at different management levels to easily access significant records which they have prioritized.
“A significant increase has been seen in the use of ONVIF-conformant devices in 2010 and that is why QNAP VioStor NVR is going forth and becoming highly compatible with these 400 models. VioStor NVR users can now easily connect with standardized ONVIF network devices to expand their variety of choices,” said Andrew Yu, Product Manager from QNAP. “In addition, VioStor NVR series is spreading its network accommodation to 1,000 devices from 38 brands, which represents the first and only Linux-based Standalone while providing the most flexibility.” The Full HD Linux-embedded NVR VioStor PRO series stands far ahead and is unique. With the firmware version 3.3.1, users simply plug a VGA/TV monitor and USB-driven mouse with neither complex settings nor extra software installations needed in order to receive live/recorded videos.
Furthermore, audio and visual [[]camera] PTZ functions become accessible through the sound cards and joystick USB connections to VioStor PRO series. This type of appliance is widely used within retail and chain stores.
Another new feature appearing in VioStor NVR live view is “auto video snapshot savings”. This allows for scheduled and specifically timed snapshots and is especially advantageous for Eco Observers spending a long time watching and waiting for their subject, or for users who need additional recorded images. To ensure data protection, the administrator is authorized to save snapshots to a designated remote or local server.
