QNAP Security, a world class manufacturer of PC-less Network Video Recorder (NVR) solutions for the corporate security/surveillance market, today announced a new firmware version 3.1.1 for VioStor Series Network Video Recorders (NVR). All the current VioStor NVR owners can upgrade their NVR to this new firmware for free. The 3.1.1 firmware offers compatibility with 64-bit version of Windows Vista/XP and network cameras from AVTECH and Hikvision. The Hungarian language is also supported on the web GUI user interface.
"We have seen the increasing number of 64-bit Windows (Vista/ XP) users nowadays and are glad to add the support for these systems to allow those users to use the powerful monitoring and playback functions of the VioStor," says Andrew Yu, Product Manager of QNAP Security.
The 3.1.1 firmware adds two new brands AVTECH and Hikvision to the network camera compatibility list. The VioStor? currently supports more than 400 network cameras from popular IP camera brands, including AXIS, ACTi, Arecont Vision, AVTECH, Canon, Cisco, D-Link, EDIMAX, ELMO, EtroVision, GANZ, Hikvision, iPUX, IQeye, LevelOne, Linksys, MOBOTIX, Messoa, Nakayo, Panasonic BB/ BL/ i-Pro, SANYO, SONY, TOSHIBA, TRENDnet, TOA, VIVOTEK, and Y-CAM. New camera/ video server models of AXIS, ACTi, Canon, D-Link, EtroVision, IQeye, Panasonic, SONY, and VIVOTEK are also supported. The new firmware also adds Hungarian to support 18 languages on the VioStor. More people can use VioStor? in their own language now.
The VioStor is the only standalone NVR with multi-NVR playback function over the Internet in the current market. The Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) on playback is supported to allow the users to search the video by specified events, including motion detection, missing object, foreign object, out of focus, and camera occlusion. The 3.1.1 firmware enhances the playback performance of the NVR and allows faster and more efficient data search on the server.
