What is Onvif Protocol?
ONVIF is committed through a global open interface standards to promote the network video applications in the security market, the interface standard will ensure that different manufacturers compatible between network video products.
In May 2008, jointly by Axis, Bosch and Sony announced three parties will work together to establish an international open standard network interface of network video product development forum, named ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum, an open network video Interface Forum), and open and common development of open industry standards.
The function of Onvif protocol
Onvif protocol describes video mode network models, interfaces, data types and data interaction. And reuse some of the existing standards, such as WS series standards. The goal’s of ONVIF protocol is to achieve a framework agreement online video, produced by different vendors of network video products (including front-end cameras, video equipment, etc.) is fully compatible.
