During the surveillance project. the construction team always have to choose the best ways of the CCTV power supply, which can not only complte the project perfectly, but also decrease the cost. Obviously, to choose the suitable power supply is quite important and necessary.

Now follw me and know several ways of the power supply in CCTV system, and have a good understanding of individual advantages and disadvantages .

power supply in Box

This means that you can install a box power supply, then you can connect the camera with the box power.

Advantage:It is easy to install,and easy to protect.

Disadvantage:The loss of the power is high through transmission, and the anti-jamming capability is weak.

Power supply point to point

This means that you need to install the power switch beside the cctv camera, ensure the camera connect to the 12V 2A power by the plug.

Advantage:The loss of the power is low during the transmission,the anti-jamming capability is strong.

Disadvantage:it is complex for you need to install each power switch beside the camera.
warning:When you use the infrared camera, we do not suggest you to use the box power supply, for it will need a large electric current when the infrared camera open. If you use the box power supply, it is hard to meet the demand on all infrared camera.

Power supply with POE technology

It means that it based on the Ethernet of Cat5 network cable without any chance to provide DC power.POE power supply usually used in the IP system.

Advantage:Reduce the cost, and it is very flexible to install the camera, the maximum power of the single-port can reach 30W.

Disadvantage:Need to have the POE switch, and the transmission distance can only be 100 meters.
