Lanner Electronics, Inc., a leading designer and ODM manufacturer of advanced network video technologies, today announced the release of a new 32-channel hybrid DVR with eight internal storage drives and 32 channel H.264 video encoding for enterprise-class network video applications.
The Lanner VR-4832 is an all-in-one DVR platform that enables the construction of a sizeable hybrid analog/digital surveillance system with a single server. The VR-4832 simplifies and centralizes complex video networks by allowing all 32 channels of video input to be controlled and accessed from a single location.
“Building on the success of the VR-2416, which provides 16 channel H.264 encoding of analog video signals, Lanner has developed a next-generation hybrid DVR that can handle the extremely high volume video traffic of enterprise-class surveillance networks,” said Tim Chen, the Senior Vice President of Lanner Video Communications.
Lanner’s latest hybrid DVR platform is a 4U rack mount server with LGA775 socket for Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs, two DDR2 DIMMs for up to 4GB memory, two GbE LAN ports, six USB 2.0 ports and eight internal 3.5” SATA II storage drives. RAID levels 0, 1, 10 and 5 are supported in Windows with Intel Rapid Recover Technology.
The VR-4832 supports 32 channels of NTSC or PAL video via onboard dedicated H.264 encoder. Each channel is capable of compressing a single full D1 video stream and a G.711 audio stream in real time. The VR-4832 also provides two RS-485 inputs for PTZ control and a set of DI/DO terminal blocks for alarm and access control. Other hardware features include a front-facing slim DVD-RW drive, VGA, S-Video and DVI-D video out, 32 channel BNC outputs for video looping and sequential monitoring, and a PCI-E (x1) expansion slot for independent expansion or a hardware RAID controller.
Lanner provides a comprehensive SDK for both Linux and Windows, along with Lanner’s EyeShot 2000 Player evaluation software, which includes a range of features for building advanced network video systems – including motion detection, video loss detection, scalable video codec (SVC), night detection and RAW data preview.
The VR-4832 will be demonstrated at IFSEC in Birmingham, UK, where Lanner will be exhibiting a range of exciting new network video technologies. IFSEC runs from May 11-14, 2009 at the NEC Birmingham. For more information, contact a Lanner representative at
