LaserCard, a provider of secure ID solutions, has joined the Associacao Brasileira das Empresas de Tecnologia em Identificacao Digital (ABRID), Brazil's principal industry association for technology companies specializing in digital ID. LaserCard, which specializes in the development, design and manufacture of highly secure advanced-technology identity cards, believes that membership in this prestigious alliance offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry partners to address the increasingly complex needs of national and state-level government ID programs in Brazil.
LaserCard has worked with industry peers and colleagues worldwide, including many ABRID members, to develop and support the implementation of multitechnology ID cards for projects all over the world. There is a growing trend worldwide for single ID cards that address multiple purposes while ensuring high security, durability, and ease of authentication in applications ranging from patient ID to e-government to border crossing.
ABRID is an open, nonprofit organization bringing together technology companies in digital ID. Among ABRID's chief goals are: to represent its members before official bodies and Brazilian society; at the institutional level, to ensure quality and safety in business and public environments; and to play an active part in national development.
LaserCard brings several unique attributes to the organization, including its “optical security media,” an ID technology which has gained a worldwide reputation for protecting high profile identity card programs. This includes the US Green Card, one of the best known ID cards in the world. In addition, as a pioneer and innovator in specialized manufacturing techniques that enable more than one machine-readable technology on a card, LaserCard has a wealth of experience in the collaborative development of multitechnology ID programs that deliver cardholders convenience and high service levels, confirm rights and privileges and provide improved security and exceptional protection against identity fraud. These cards typically combine optical security media with one or more chip technology.
“As an active participant in the identity solution industry, LaserCard is proud to be a new member of ABRID,” said Bob DeVincenzi, President and CEO of LaserCard.
