LaserCard, a provider of secure ID solutions, appointed Kevin McKenna as VP of Sales, Americas. Based in Washington, D.C., McKenna will be responsible for leading the company's sales and government relations activities in North, Central and South America.

McKenna joins LaserCard with more than a decade of experience in the hardware, software and services markets, most recently as President and COO of Paraquis Solutions, a consulting firm. Previously, McKenna sold and implemented complex identity and information systems during his management roles at two of North America's leading identity solutions and information technology providers. McKenna also served for seven years as an Aviation Officer in the U.S. Army following his graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

“Kevin brings an exceptional level of industry knowledge to this role, and we are very pleased to welcome him to LaserCard,” said Bob DeVincenzi, President and CEO of LaserCard. “Kevin will play a critical role in the expansion of our focus on opportunities in the secure identity market in the Americas.”

As an inducement to join LaserCard, McKenna was granted a non-statutory stock option for 20,000 shares with an exercise price of US$4.635. The stock option has a seven-year term with 25-percent vesting after one year and 6.25-percent vesting quarterly over the following twelve quarters.
