Anixter International accomplished Security Solutions veteran, Senior VP Michael Duncan, joined Firetide, as VP of Sales Americas. Duncan for the past six years has lead Anixter's sales of security solutions through the installer channel to end users for video and access control solutions.

"While Duncan was leading the security initiative at Anixter, security sales grew 20 fold. He has the experience and relationships to help us continue to drive revenue growth in our core municipal infrastructure market and help us aggressively expand our available market opportunities in transportation, telecommunications and wireless LANs among others," said Bo Larsson, CEO of Firetide. "At Firetide, he will grow our system integrator partnerships, build out our sales organization in the Americas and help us ensure that we continue to double our revenues every year."

"Firetide has tremendous momentum, market and technology leadership in wireless infrastructure mesh," said Michael Duncan. "In my career, I have rarely seen a young company with the success and potential that Firetide has demonstrated. I look forward to working with Firetide to growing the business to the next level, leveraging my experience and relationships to build a larger channel and be a key contributor to the company's continued success."

At Anixter, Duncan was responsible for growing the security business, implementing the sales and marketing strategy. This includes the selection of best in class supplier partners and helping them to implement their sales plans with Anixter. He built a security sales staff to support the efforts of the general sales organization, assisting them with business development and technical support. He hired a direct staff of salespeople to focus on the large security integrator organizations and vertical market sales people for critical infrastructure and transportation. While he focused primarily on North America, he provided direction and support for the rest of the world as needed. The sales and marketing strategy built in the U.S. is also followed in Asia/Pac, Latin America and EMEA.
