G4S Names New MD for Employment Screening and Vetting

G4S Secure Solutions announced the appointment of Steve Bailey as MD of its newly formed Employment Screening and Vetting division. Steve will be responsible for developing the business into a market leader in the global screening industry. G4S's Employment Screening and Vetting division enables customers to reduce the risk and impact of taking on an unsuitable candidate, or failing to check the status of existing employees and contractors.

G4S's Employment Screening and Vetting division enables customers to reduce the risk and impact of taking on an unsuitable candidate, or failing to check the status of existing employees and contractors.


Steve is one of Europe's authorities on employee recruitment and vetting and is the founder and former joint European Chair of National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) Europe. NAPBS represents companies in the screening industry and seeks to inform debate on industry standards and regulation. He is widely published on technology and financial issues and is the founder of the Chairman's Network Publications.


Steve founded RwC Plc (Background Checking) and developed it into a market leader in the burgeoning screening and vetting sector. The business was acquired by Experian in April 2006 and was the recognized leader in the provision of CV vetting services for both Small-to-Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) and major corporations and institutions.


“The financial and legal ramifications of employing individuals that have not been screened or vetted adequately have escalated dramatically in the last five years, as a result of statutory regulation and an increasing number of civil litigation claims. Companies are increasingly conscious of the need for comprehensive employee screening services and G4S, having performed this task for more than 20 years in relation to its own employees, is in a experienced position to meet these requirements,” said Steve Bailey, Managing Director, G4S Employment Screening and Vetting.
