Long Island's Largest School District Awards Security Contract to Vicon

Vicon Industries, a designer and producer of integrated network video surveillance and access control systems, is to provide an integrated security and surveillance system for the entire Brentwood Union free school district, located on Long Island, NY. When completed, the system will link together two high schools, a freshman center, four middle schools, 11 elementary schools and an administration building as part of a network-based surveillance and access control system. Each location will feature a hybrid installation comprised of Vicon analog and network cameras connected to Kollector Elite network DVRs running Vicon's video management software.

Cameras positioned throughout and around each building, including some on athletic fields and other critical outdoor areas, may be controlled and monitored by staff at each school; staff at the administration building can view and control cameras at all locations as part of a unified system. Recorded video may also be recalled and reviewed at each school and from district headquarters.
