Kempinski Hotel Ishtar's impressive new arabesque building will complete the resort's accommodation offering for this year, which is equipped with a new fiber optic transmission system for enhanced surveillance and security control.

AMG Systems has been contracted by Electrosec to supply its innovative fiber optic transmission system, Guardian-Lite 4700, for the security and surveillance system for Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea.

Featured in Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List 2007 and cited as Jordan's "Resort of the Year" in the 2006 Grumpy Gourmet Awards, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea is already being recognized as the premier resort destination in the region.

Not only is the Dead Sea the lowest point on earth (400 meters below sea level) and the biggest natural spa in the world, but it also offers 330 days of ultra-violet filtered sunshine, low humidity, warm climate, ozone-rich air and mineral-loaded seawater. The destination is getting increasingly popular for spa treatments and general relaxation in a stress-free, healthy atmosphere rich in materials.

Electrosec is based in Jordan and specializes in design and supply of security, fire safety, video, access control, audio-visual and home automation systems for the Middle East region and Africa. The company was recently rewarded the contract for providing the Kempinski with a comprehensive, state-of-the-art integrated security system which includes live video surveillance.

"Although Jordan is known as a relatively safe, welcoming and hospitable country, the increasing development of roads and hotels has meant that solutions for ensuring security and safety are key factors in any new construction project," explained Ibrahim Sawalha, General Manager of Electrosec. "We invited AMG Systems to work with us for the detailed specifications and provision of a sophisticated CCTV solution, which will include more than 35 PTZ cameras for the transmission of real-time, full-bandwidth video directly to the control center. We needed a solution which could monitor key areas of the resort and would guarantee that the control center would be looking at live pictures at any given point in time." AMG has been commended for the unique technical support it has been providing throughout the entire project.

AMG Systems is one of the leading providers of fiber optic transmission equipment designed for video surveillance operations in the transportation and security sectors. Carrying real-time, full-bandwidth video, audio and data signals, the company's equipment is installed on highways, tunnels, rail links, ports, airports and buildings around the globe to enhance safety and security for all users. As well as providing the most comprehensive and innovative range available in the market today, AMG's expertise is also exploited to produce high-quality custom fiber optic video, audio and data transmission products for many multinational companies. In 2005, AMG won the Security Excellence Award for Best International Achievement, citingamong othersthe traffic management systems delivered for the Athens Olympics.

"AMG is deeply committed to the Middle East market, and we have seen an increasing number of projects in the region over the past few month," said Alan Hayes, founder and Managing Director of AMG Systems. "The Kempinski resort project is highly prestigious, and we are extremely proud to be delivering our newest patented technology for the uncompressed transmission of video. Working with Electrosec on this project has been a pleasure, and I think that this particular project in Jordan is yet another example of the many versatile applications that our newest product range can help improve."

Housed in a stylish arabesque building, the new Kempinski accommodation includes 201 new rooms and suites, joining the existing 117 within the exclusive Ishtar Villasall of which face the Dead Sea and each with its own unique style. For 2007, the resort will also open a Grand Ballroom for up to 800 guests, extensive meeting facilities, an auditorium that can seat 228 people, a bowling alley, tennis courts and 10,000 square meters of holistic wellness facilities at the Anantara Spa, which will be the largest in the Middle East.

Situated 70 kilometers southwest of Queen Alia International Airport and 55 kilometers southwest of Amman (the capital city of Jordan), Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea is the second Kempinski property in the country, with a third hotel to debut in Aqaba in 2008. AMG Systems will be supplying its new Guardian-Lite 4700 series. The project called for 8-channel multiplexers for the transmission of camera signals and associated data back to the control room.
