OlympiaWorld faced a challenge with its outdated scoreboard, which struggled to keep pace with modern sports entertainment standards.
Austria’s OlympiaWorld Innsbruck boasts a rich legacy as the esteemed host of multiple Winter Olympics, including the 1964 and 1976 Games, as well as the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics. Among its treasures, the hockey arena proudly serves as the home of the hockey club “HC Tiroler Wasserkraft Innsbruck – Die Haie”. However, the arena faced a challenge with its outdated scoreboard, which struggled to keep pace with modern sports entertainment standards. This affected fans’ ability to fully engage in the thrilling action on the ice.
In response, OlympiaWorld installed a 96 m² octagonal LED display cube powered by P3.9 Outdoor Fixed LED technology from Hikvision. The cabinets are designed to support 45° bevel cut angles, allowing for customized angle splicing that enables the creation of the unique octagonal cube. The cube captivates audiences with its seamless viewing experience across its 20 m² sides and smaller 4m² edges. Beyond serving as a scoreboard, the four 20 m² screens provide live streaming and replay capabilities, enhancing the overall spectator experience during the games. Moreover, the strategically positioned 4m² edge displays showcase sponsor advertisements, providing valuable exposure opportunities.
The octagonal shape of the LED screen not only elevates the aesthetics of the arena but also offers enhanced advertising prospects and increased revenue for OlympiaWorld. By leveraging the superior viewpoint and resolution of the octagon LED screen, the complex now attracts sports enthusiasts to enjoy a wide range of events in a modern and dynamic setting. This successful transformation highlights OlympiaWorld Innsbruck’s commitment to innovation and excellence in sports entertainment.
