Secutech International, Asia’s biggest security tradeshow, kicked off its three-day 2023 event on April 26, featuring some of the best made-in-Taiwan security products and solutions.

Bigger and better from last year

The show promises to be bigger and more successful than previous years. For starters, a total of 260 local and oversea companies are exhibiting, a significant growth from 2022. The organizer had to change the venue from Hall 2 of Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei last year to Hall 1 this year, with floor space totaling 15,120 square meters to accommodate exhibitors and visitors

Overwhelming visitor number

Moreover, visitor number increased tremendously from 2022. Last year the show opened to but a handful of local visitors, amid the height of the pandemic. Now, with COVID waning, Taiwan has reopened its borders and lifted the mandatory quarantine policy. This resulted in an overwhelming number of foreign and local visitors, over 15,000, coming to the show. The top visitor countries are Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, India, Korea, HongKong/China, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Fringe programs

The excitement of the show goes well beyond the booths in the forms of conferences and fringe programs. Of note, two international summits are held, namely the Asia-Pacific Intelligent Rail Transport in Urban Areas Summit and the 2023 Asia Pacific Smart Disaster Prevention Summit. Further, there are over 100 conference and seminar sessions focusing on six topics: security, industrial safety, fire safety & disaster prevention, smart building, smart transportation, and smart mobility solutions.

Best MIT players

But it’s the Taiwan exhibitors with their feature attractions that are the main highlight of the show. This year exhibitors are spread across several major pavilions/zones including Mobility, Fire and Safety, AI Clubhouse, Smart Buildings and Living, Smart Factory and Industrial Safety, and 5G, showcasing their advance, cutting-edge solutions.

Vecow, for example, demonstrates their in-vehicle solutions like the IVX-1000 IPC, featuring 13th/12th Gen Intel Core processor, EN50155:2017 certification, 8 independent 2.5G LAN with M12 X-coded with 4 PoE+, and support for a wide range of 16V to 160V power input with 4kV DC Isolation, 500V surge protections, and configurable ignition power control.

Hi-Power Solution also exhibited their AI solutions with applications in rail transportation, among others, where any irregularities, be they objects on the rail or pedestrians loitering at the rail crossing, can be detected and alerted to drivers/authorities immediately.

These made-in-Taiwan solutions are so cutting-edge that they’ve received high market acceptance overseas. Kiwi, for example, has seen Japan’s famous retail chain AEON adopting their cold-chain total solution, which detects irregularities in refrigeration and sends an alarm to the operator instantly.

Secutech 2023 is organized by Messe Frankfurt. It runs from Apr. 26-28 at the Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 in Taipei.
