Intelligent traffic surveillance

From traffic congestion to parking woes, Intelligent Video Analytics provide insights to problems for land transportation today.

Overlaying video with searchable metadata

Videos of vehicles passing a toll gate were processed by a third-party license plate recognition software. Capable of storing this metadata, Bosch Video Management System (BVMS) enabled users to search through historical footage for predetermined visual specifications like license plate number, vehicle type, toll charges, and more.

Managing traffic

In this demo, Bosch Intelligent Video Analytics trained our cameras to extract trajectory and direction metadata from objects; information was then unified onto an interface that visualized road congestion patterns and plotted the data on a graph.

Analyzing parking spaces

Intelligent Video Analytics worked together with our video cameras to estimate parking availability within a defined area. This substantially reduced costs as it eliminated the need to embed sensors in every lot. Bosch Metadata Publisher made parking information available in real time, meaning visitors could check parking availability before arrival. Additionally, a live streamed solution from the Singapore Experience Centre involved Bosch Intelligent Video Analytics detecting and identifying illegally parked vehicles and triggered announcements for drivers to move their cars.

Technology showcase

The Technology Showcase presented novel ways in which Bosch cameras, facial recognition capabilities and software platforms could be used to develop innovative new solutions.

Intelligent analysis beyond security

In the first scene, the Camera Trainer was used in a novel, non-security application to detect a change in water levels; the same camera could also detect empty seats in meeting rooms. These could help better utilize facilities or safeguard against rising sea levels.

Dynamic zoom

A second scene was shown on applications developed to dynamically and remotely control Bosch cameras. Through maps or mobile devices, such applications could command the camera to pan, tilt, and zoom in to a chosen GPS location. A live overview of urgent situations could be easily and quickly retrieved.

Buildings insights

In the Connected Buildings session, demos illustrated how Bosch technologies could be used to facilitate operations in commercial buildings such as offices, retail and mixed-development buildings.

Bosch Assist

Our chat solution allows users to text Bosch cameras through WhatsApp, WeChat or Line to obtain information – all while using conversational language. Users were able to query Bosch Assist to find out if facilities such as the gym or the canteen were crowded.

Monitoring crowds

Bosch cameras, installed at critical points such as entrances and exits with video analytics generated metadata on crowd density, occupancy level, and the movement of people within an area. This was presented in graphical format using the Bosch Intelligent Insights widget.
